A DIAGNOSTIC POST FOR THE TRAIN WHEELSETS AUTOMATIC CHECK WILL BE BUILT AS PART OF THE VLADYKINO ELECTRIC DEPOT RECONSTRUCTION

As part of the Vladykino electric depot reconstruction, a diagnostic post will be established for the automatic check of wheelsets of the Moscow Metro rolling stock. This was informed by Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“The post will automatically check wheelsets while the train is moving. In case of deviations, the rolling stock will be directed to a new wheel lathe, which is scheduled to be installed at the depot”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, the diagnostic post will be launched after the completion of the main stage of the Vladykino electric depot reconstruction.

“The main stage of the work is now more than 90% complete. All work is being carried out in conditions of the operating electric depot”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the reconstruction of the stabling and repair building is also being completed, with additional 5 ditches for overnight storage and 4 ditches for train repair.

“The maintenance personnel building is being erected, architectural finishing and the installation of utilities are already underway”, said Yuri Kravtsov said.

According to the head of the engineering holding, the warehouse of the escalator service is also in a high degree of construction readiness, and the track superstructure and the switchbox are being installed.

“The final stage of the depot reconstruction will include a civil defence and emergency management building, which is already two-thirds complete”, informed Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of Mosinzhproekt emphasised that as part of the Vladykino depot reconstruction, the car park of the special vehicle fleet has already been put into operation to accommodate metro trucks.

The 14.6-hectare electric depot to maintain the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya Line rolling stock is located in the north of Moscow between the Vladykino and Botanicheskiy Sad stations near the North-Eastern Chord. Its reconstruction will enable to increase the number of employees by 150 people.
