A pilot operation of the shared data environment has already been carried out
“The new information modelling methodology will be applied during a pilot project at the Krasny Stroitel electric depot under construction of the future Biryulyovskaya Line. The development is being implemented by Mosinzhproekt JSC experts who have undergone a special training”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.
“We are testing a BIM methodology based on the cutting edge practices and adapted to our tasks, in this case, the design and construction of metro facilities. The test site was the Krasny Stroitel electric depot of the future Biryulyovskaya Line,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to the Deputy Mayor, a pilot operation of the shared data environment (SDE) has already been carried out. Its integration with a computer-aided engineering system allows for centralised information management and project progress monitoring.
“The BIM methodology also includes a job exchange system, which improves coordination between specialists from different departments. Data on the specifications of the required equipment is taken from a single database,” added Andrey Bochkarev.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the technical document workflow system was another vital innovation. It makes it possible to manage the transfer, approval and modification of project documentation throughout the life history of a building project.
“The technology allows us to do without paper documents and eliminate errors due to ‘human error’, and save labour and material resources,” Yuri Kravtsov summed up.
The head of the holding noted that Mosinzhproekt experts who undergone a training at the BIM competence centre established in the company were involved in the implementation of the plan to introduce the new information modelling methodology.
Recall, for the first time, Mosinzhproekt applied information modelling technologies during the reconstruction of the Luzhniki stadium. Also, the project of the Irina Viner-Usmanova Palace of Gymnastics was designed using BIM. A project to create a National Space Center (NSC) is now underway. The company plans to create a unified BIM model of one of the promising metro lines in Moscow. Mosinzhproekt Institute LLC, a part of the holding, was acknowledged the BIM Company of the Year as a member of the Russian BIM Leaders Club in 2021.
