ALL STATIONS ON THE NORTH-EASTERN SECTION OF THE BIG CIRCLE LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION ARE INTERCHANGE STATIONS

“Three prospective stations as part of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro are interchange stations”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“You will be able to transfer from the Sokolniki BCL station to the same name station of the Sokolnicheskaya Line. Passengers of the prospective Rizhskaya BCL station will be able to transfer to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line. The Maryina Roshcha BCL station will be equipped with a transfer to the Maryina Roshcha station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line, and there will be an above ground pedestrian crossing to the railway platform of the prospective MCD 2 stopping point”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, these stations of the Big Circle Line will create new convenient routes for Muscovites that will let them save travel time.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, explained that convenient passages are being created to distribute passenger flows at the Sokolniki BCL station.

“The first one leads from the station concourse of the red line to the station of the Big Circle Line. The second passage will enable to transfer from the BCL to the end of the Sokolniki platform of the radial line”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the engineering holding emphasised that the construction of the transport interchange hubs at all stations in the north-east of the Big Circle Line was carried out around the clock in difficult geological conditions and with ongoing monitoring, as the work was carried out in the immediate vicinity of the operating metro tunnels.

The opening of the north-eastern BCL section will improve transport services for about 900 thousand Muscovites. It will reduce the load on the central sections of the metro lines and improve transport accessibility for the Savelovsky and Rizhsky railway stations.

In addition to these three stations, the north-eastern section of the Big Circle LIne comprises the Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo, Elektrozavodskaya stations, already built and temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line, and the connecting line to the Nizhegorodskoye electric depot.
