“The area to be landscaped near the Klenovy Bulvar station on the eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro will be about 10 ha, 5.7 ha of which is a green area”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“The area adjacent to the Klenovy Bulvar BCL station under construction will feature rectangular and circular lawns and flower beds, trees and shrubs will be planted, lanterns and other small architectural forms will be installed. Landscaping will start next spring”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to the Deputy Mayor, the landscaping also includes creating access roads and ground public transport stops, asphalting pavements and paving paths.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, said that the area around the Klenovy Bulvar station would be paved with natural stone from domestic deposits. Siberian granite tiles and Karelian gabbro cobble stone will be used.
“The design of the Klenovy Bulvar echoes the architectural appearance of the attractions of Kolomenskoye, in particular the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. The proximity of the museum-reserve also has influenced the design of the area around the station, which will blend in with the surrounding urban environment and become a new public space comfortable for metro passengers and local residents”, emphasised Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of the engineering holding recalled that the artistic appearance of the Klenovy Bulvar BCL station was selected during an open international architectural competition organised by Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies. The architectural and finishing work and the installation of the main artistic elements of the station are being completed, and the utilities are being installed.
In addition to Klenovy Bulvar, the 11 km long eastern section of the BCL includes the Nagatinsky Zaton, Pechatniki and Tekstilshchiki stations. Its opening will improve the transport accessibility for a number of districts in the south-east of Moscow.
Creation of the Big Circle Line is the principal project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already open to passengers.
