“Landscaping near the Kuntsevskaya BCL station of the Moscow Metro has been completed”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build the new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Next to Ivan Franko Street, an amphitheatre is arranged in a semicircular alcove, and outdoor swivel chairs and swings have also been installed”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
The Deputy Mayor recalled that the Kuntsevskaya station brought together three metro lines and the first Moscow Central Diameter ‘Odintsovo – Lobnya’. With the introduction of the BCL station, a major transport interchange hub has appeared here.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the area around the station has a complex terrain, so experts created a closed recreation space, separating it from the transit area and Rublyovskoye Shosse, while partially obscuring the metro engineering structures from view.
“The appearance of the landscaping area is aligned with the interior of the Kuntsevskaya station through the design solutions and the materials used. The kiosk ventilation systems are circular in shape and the green areas around them form a single complex with them”, says Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of the engineering holding recalled that the main idea of the architectural and artistic design of Kuntsevskaya was monumental scale of spacious interior of the station and pavilions, as if they were made of solid stone.
Opening of the Kuntsevskaya BCL station has improved transport services in the Khoroshovo-Mnyovniki, Kuntsevo, Filevsky Park and Fili-Davydkovo districts, with over 530 thousand people living in the area.
