An interchange to the “blue” line of the metro and the railway platform is being constructed at the Electrozavodskaya station on the BCL

“At the Electrozavodskaya station on the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro, active work is underway to build an interchange to the station of the same name on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line and the platform on the Kazan (Ryazan) line of the Moscow railroad”, informed Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“The work on the interchange between metro stations is carried out by both open cut and underground methods. The monolithic structures, constructed by open cut method (in a trench), are 75% complete, and those in the underground part are 25% complete. In addition, escalators have been installed in the interchange area and the installation of engineering equipment has been completed,” said Andrey Bochkarev.

For his part, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC Yuri Kravtsov specified that the passway of the interchange hub with passages was being constructed by the mining method. Currently, the work has been completed by a quarter.

“Work is carried out in difficult mining and geological conditions. Besides, there are metro tunnels and a railroad line in close proximity to the future interchange,” said Yuri Kravtsov.

Let us remind that the Electrozavodskaya station of the Big Circle Line was opened on December 31, 2020. Currently, it operates as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line of the metro until the Big Circle Line is fully launched.
