ANCILLARY STAGE OF BRATEEVO ELECTRIC DEPOT CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED

The wheel shop is built

“As part of the successive construction stage of Brateevo electric depot, the wheel shop is built”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow metro development programme.

“The wheel shop, located in the car repair building for the metro rolling stock, will enable the staff to proceed more efficiently with its repair and maintenance”, noted Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, within the framework of this construction stage, installation and commissioning into operation of production facilities is accomplished.

“Along with improvement of maintenance and repair level for the rolling stock, completion of commissioning of the installed equipment contributed to further reduction in proportion of manual labour and work labour input”, Bochkarev added.

As explained by Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the new equipment is intended for processing the parts of wheel sets by means of using the shop-floor machines, gears manufacturing, as well as heat-treating of cogged wheels.

“This will extend their service life, thus increasing wear-resistance of the serviced train cars. Upon completion of the work in the wheel shop, the depot will become a fully functional car-repair plant”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

It is noteworthy, that Brateevo electric depot opened at the end of 2020, following completion of the second construction stage. In this regard, maintenance, layover and repair complex for electric rolling stock, equipped with a car-wash chamber, was built.

Brateevo is planned to serve the trains of the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line, as well as the electric rolling stock of the entire Moscow metro.

The depot comprises 27 industrial buildings, 5047 units of production equipment, permitting to proceed with overhaul and medium repair of up to 850 cars annually, maintenance of 17 trains per day, as well as scheduled washing of 16 trains per day and scheduled overnight layover for 11 trains. The depot is equipped with the latest, including unique, production equipment.
