Architectural finishing of Kuntsevskaya metro station is more than half ready

At the western section of the Big Circle Line (BCL), Kuntsevskaya station is ready by 55%, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the government of Moscow on urban policy and the construction Andrey Bochkarev. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding acts as the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Program.

“Today, the basic monolithic structures are ready by 80%, the architectural finishing work is completed by 55%, passenger area’s finishing is underway, ” said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, four escalators have been installed in the first concourse.

Furthermore, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the engineering systems installation and adjustment is in progress at the station. Engineering systems solution including ventilation, water, and wastewater mains; we are scheduled to start up pre-commissioning activities throughout the month,” said Yuri Kravtsov.

Earlier, Mnyovniki and Narodnoe Opolchenie stations have already been opened as part of the western section of the BCL station; the remaining two stations Terehovo and Kuntsevskaya, are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. The launching of this section will improve transport services for more than half a million residents and those who work in Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki, Kuntsevo, Filevsky Park, Fili-Davydkovo, Mozhaysky, Districts as well as lessen the load on the central sections of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya metro lines.

The Big Circle Line is a vital project of the Moscow Metro construction. The line covers more than 70 kilometers; 31 stations will be located, 12 are already open to passengers.
