The construction workers have started the design and decoration work at the Universitet Druzhby Narodov station on the Troitskaya metro line, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

According to Deputy Mayor, Siberian granite was being laid on the platform floor and Sayan marble was being laid on the vertical surfaces, and the subsystem was being mounted for the face plates to be installed on the tunnel walls.
“The approved architectural appearance of the station involves decoration of the tunnel walls with aluminium panels anodised to polished stainless steel, which will match with large-scale multicoloured ceiling elements made of the same material”, specified Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that escalators had already been installed at the station and the installation of the utilities such as smoke removal system and air ducts, pipelines and power supply system was underway.
“Improvement of the area adjacent to the station has begun. For instance, the construction workers have started paving the pedestrian area with tiles and installing light poles”, added Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of the engineering holding reminded that the project envisaged a single concourse for passengers with access to nearby educational and scientific institutions, which would be designed also for disabled.
The 40 km long Troitskaya metro line will connect the platforms of the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) with the urban district of Troitsk, passing through Southern, South-Western, Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts of the capital.
