AREA AROUND WESTERN CONCOURSE OF KASHIRSKAYA BCL STATION OF MOSCOW METRO CONTINUES TO BE IMPROVED

Paving and laying of the lawn as part of the improvement of the territory adjacent to the western concourse of the Kashirskaya station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro has been fully completed, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“Under the landscaping project, new pavements have also been arranged – about three thousand square metres have been paved with granite stones. In addition, more than a thousand square metres of rolled lawn has been laid”, said Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Deputy Mayor, it is planned to install small architectural forms, including bicycle parking and benches.

Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that 26 trees and 87 bushes planted before the reconstruction work were safely preserved on the territory adjacent to the Kashirskaya station.

“All the finishing work inside the concourse is fully completed. The floor and walls have been finished with granite and marble, the facade has been clad with natural stone, and the ticket office equipment and fare gates have been installed”, noted Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the holding added that modern Moscow Metro navigation, including high-contrast signs, contrasting stripes and textured floor coverings for visually impaired passengers, would also be placed inside the concourse.

The Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya stations of the former Kakhovskaya Line are being reconstructed to integrate them into the BCL. The Kakhovskaya station has already been operating as part of the Big Circle Line since 2021.

The creation of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already servicing the passengers.

Yesterday, Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, performed a technical launch of the southern section of the BCL from the Kakhovskaya station to the Kashirskaya station.

“We have completed the reconstruction of the Kakhovskaya line, which is part of the southern section of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro. In fact, these are new stations, new tunnels that are 80% rebuilt, equipped with new technologies, and integrated into the Big Circle Line. Today, we are completing the technical launch, and then there is still a part of the BCL, which the construction workers will concentrate their efforts on”, said Mr. Sergei Sobyanin.
