The readiness of the cast-in-situ structures of the stabling and repair building of the Yuzhnoye electric depot is 80% and the readiness of the metal constructions is 85%, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“On the territory of the Yuzhnoye electric depot, the construction of the stabling and repair building with a total area of more than 40 thousand square metres is in progress.
In addition to the cast-in-situ and metal construction works, the construction workers are installing wall panels to provide a thermal loop. In addition, preparatory work for the installation of internal utilities was started”, added Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
According to Deputy Mayor, the installation of under-rail flyovers was also continuing and the cast-in-situ structures of the inspection pits and power floors were being completed.
“The future stabling and repair building will provide daily maintenance for thirty electric trains and overnight stabling for twenty-five trains. There will be 33 pits for technical inspections and repairs of various complexity, as well as production workshops and a washing chamber”, noted Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
In addition, the second and third floors of the administrative building are being actively built, and the construction of auxiliary buildings and facilities is underway throughout the electric depot complex. They include the motor depot building, the traction step-down substation, the central heat supply station, the compressor and pumping stations.
Recall that there are 20 operating electric depots in Moscow. Six of them are at different stages of reconstruction and construction, including Nizhegorodskoye, Yuzhnoye, Salaryevo, Vladykino, Vykhino, and Aminyevskoye, which will create seven thousand new jobs in the capital.
Today, Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, has inspected the construction progress of the Yuzhnoye electric depot.
“The largest metro car operation and repair complex in the country is being constructed in Brateevo. We completed the first phase in 2013 and the second phase will be finished this year. All major works must be accomplished. The complex should be fully operational next year. This is important both for the Zamoskvoretskaya line, on which the new metro cars will go, and for the Big Circle Line,” said Mr. Sergei Sobyanin.
