The flyover and exit from Kaspiyskaya Street to 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane, which will connect the Southern Rockade and the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD), is 80% complete, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general contractor and general designer of a number of sections of the Southern Rockade.

“The construction of the flyover and exit from the Southern Rockade to the Moscow High Speed Diameter is 80% complete. Now the construction workers are working on concreting the roadway”, stated Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Deputy Mayor, the structure is being constructed as part of a section of the Southern Rockade from Kaspiyskaya Street to 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane. The project envisages construction and reconstruction of roads with a total length of more than 9 kilometres, including seven overpasses, three pedestrian underpasses: near Kantemirovskaya Street, 29 bld. 2; 17 bld. 1; 3 bld. 3.

Mr. Rafik Zagrutdinov, Head of the Moscow City Construction Department, specified that the Southern Rockade started from the interchange of Rublyovskoye highway with the Moscow Automobile Ring Road and ended at Verkhnie Polya Street in Kapotnya.

“The route has already been partially built from Rublyovskoye highway to Proletarskiy avenue and put into operation. Construction work is now underway on four sections of the rockade. Once completed, the new road will become a partial alternate route of the Moscow Automobile Ring Road and the Third Ring Road”, said Mr. Rafik Zagrutdinov.

The Southern Rockade will provide transport links to four Moscow districts: Western Administrative District, South-Western Administrative District, Southern Administrative District, South-Eastern Administrative District and 24 districts with a population of about 2.7 million people. The route will connect major highways: the Eastern and Western sections of the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, Kutuzovsky avenue, Michurinsky avenue, Vernadskogo avenue, Leninsky avenue, Profsoyuznaya Street, Varshavskoye highway, Proletarskiy avenue, Kashirskoye highway, Lipetskaya and Lyublinskaya Streets, Besedinskoye highway and Verkhnie Polya Street.

“Mr, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, has set the task to complete the construction of all the chord highways in 2023”, added Mr. Rafik Zagrutdinov.
