“Builders have started constructing a road bridge linking the northern part of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain with Myasishcheva Street”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is the operator of several major urban development projects in the capital, including the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain territory.
“Well-developed transport system will be one of the most important factors in the development of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain. Its northern part will be connected to Filevsky Park by a four-lane road bridge, which will be 232 metres long and about 30 metres wide”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, a notice of the start of construction and installation work on the site was received by the Moscow State Construction Supervision Committee in November.
“Man-made ‘half isles’ are being constructed on the Moskva River, with the bridge pillars to be installed on them”, specified Andrey Bochkarev.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, said that in addition to the four car lanes, the bridge would have two pavements, the pedestrian one and the one combined with a bicycle path. The main colour of the bridge will be red, so that its appearance will echo the other facilities of the floodplain.
“One of these is the avant-garde-inspired Mnyovniki station of the Big Circle Line, which was commissioned in December 2021. The projected overpass over Nizhniye Mnyovniki Street will also be designed in red as the main colour”, emphasised the head of the engineering holding.
He also added that another road bridge would be built to the south of this big urban development project.
“The second bridge will provide a link for motorists and pedestrians between the middle part of the floodplain and Novozavodskaya Street. Design and engineering studies are underway for this site. There are plans to test the bridge model for strength and safety at the Krylov State Research Center in Saint Petersburg”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of Mosinzhproekt recalled that two bicycle-pedestrian bridges would also connect the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain with the adjacent districts in future.
The Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain covers an area of 352 hectares. The site planning envisages the creation of residential and business development, facilities of social infrastructure and park areas, both at the expense of the city budget and by private investors. The development of this major urban planning project in the capital will create around 30 thousand jobs. The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies acts as an operator for a number of major urban planning projects in Moscow, such as the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain, the vacated territory of M.V. Khrunichev Space Center, as well as the Kommunarka ABC in New Moscow. The total area of the facilities scheduled for construction exceeds 12 million square metres.
