CONSTRUCTION OF MSD SOUTHERN SECTION TO BE COMPLETED THIS YEAR, ACCORDING TO MR. SERGEI SOBYANIN

The creation of the southern section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) will improve transport services for around 2.5 million people in 22 districts of the capital, according to Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow.

The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general contractor and general designer of a number of sections of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter and the Southern Rockade.

“Final work is underway on the section from Marshala Shestopalova Street to the tracks of the Paveletsky suburban railway line. The construction workers are laying the pavement, planting trees and preparing the ground for lawn. The work is scheduled to be completed in early July”, said Mayor of Moscow on his social media.

According to him, a 4.1 km long section of the new road from the Paveletsky suburban railway line to the junction with the Moscow Automobile Ring Road has also been completed, and work on the second part will start this month.

“This year, we will complete work on the southern direction of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. This MSD section will improve transport services for the residents of 22 districts of the capital with a population of about 2.5 million people”, emphasised Mr. Sergei Sobyanin.

He added that the reconstruction of Verkhniye Polya Street from Maryinsky Park Street to the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, as part of the creation of another section of the Southern Rockade, was continuing in parallel: the reconstruction of cable lines was nearing completion and construction workers were preparing to start laying asphalt pavement.

In 2023, Mosinzhproekt celebrates its 65th anniversary. Over the years, the company’s experts have participated in the construction of more than 6,000 km of roads, more than 100 bridges and flyovers, and 300 underground and overground pedestrian crossings. Today, Mosinzhproekt is constructing a number of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter and the Southern Rockade sections and is building street and road network facilities in New Moscow, on the sites of several major urban planning projects and transport interchange hubs in the capital.
