CONSTRUCTION OF THE LAST TUNNEL OF THE BIG CIRCLE LINE HAS STARTED IN MOSCOW

It will take place between Klenovy Bulvar and Kashirskaya

“In the Russian capital, tunneling of the last 70th tunnel of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro has started”, said Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, on his social media accounts. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“Today, they have started building the last 70th tunnel on the Big Circle Line. It will take place between Klenovy Bulvar and Kashirskaya. In addition, another four tunnels are being handled,” noted Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, today, the BCL is one of the key projects of development of the Moscow transport hub, which will allow Muscovites to save a lot of travelling time.

“No need to go to the city center to change from one radial line to another. For example, the way from Yugo-Zapadnaya to Kuntsevskaya will be reduced from 43 minutes to 20 minutes,” explained the Mayor of Moscow.

In addition, he shared his plans to develop the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro: “In the future, we will be able to attach the new radial lines to the BCL: the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya Line at the Narodnoye Opolcheniya station, the Troitskaya Line at Novatorskaya, the Biryulevskaya Line at the Klenovy Bulvar station.

The Big Circle Line is the key Moscow Metro construction project, its length will be 70 km with 31 stations, 12 of which are already open to passengers. It will be the longest underground loop line in the world.
