CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN STRUCTURES OF THE NARODNOYE OPOLCHENIYE STATION ON THE RUBLYOVO-ARKHANGELSKAYA LINE HAS STARTED

“Builders have started in-situ concreting on the Narodnoye Opolcheniye platform of the prospective Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line (RAL) of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“Excavation and anchoring works are underway in the area of the prospective concourses and platform section of the Narodnoye Opolcheniye station. These works are two-thirds complete. “The construction of cast-in-situ structures has started in the second, northern concourse”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, the site of concourse 2 will be temporarily equipped with a interconnecting and shield chamber to start the tunnel boring machines (TBMs), which will tunnel two tunnels from Narodnoye Opolcheniye to another prospective RAL station, the Bulvar Karbysheva station.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the Narodnoye Opolcheniye station located along Demian Bedny Street at the intersection with Prospect Marshala Zhukova would have two underground concourses.

“The northern concourse will provide access to the residential development and social infrastructure on Demian Bedny Street. Prospect Marshala Zhukova will be accessible via the first, southern concourse”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

According to Kravtsov, concourse 1 will also be used to transfer to the existing Narodnoye Opolcheniye station of the Big Circle Line.

The head of the engineering holding also reminded that the tunnelling of two tunnels between the Narodnoye Opolcheniye and Zvenigorodskaya stations on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line was underway: it was more than three quarters complete. The “Natalie” tunnel boring machine is continuing construction of the left tunnel and the “Victoria” TBM is constructing the right tunnel, each is more than 1.7 km long. Two tunnels from the Narodnoye Opolcheniye station towards the Bulvar Karbysheva station are planned to be excavated before the end of the year.

The first section of the 12.6 km long Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line will feature the following stations: Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye, Bulvar Karbysheva, Serebryany Bor, Strogino and Lipovaya Roscha.

A new radial metro line will run from the Moscow City business centre to Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoe beyond the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, where a large residential and business district is being formed. The line will also improve transport accessibility in Mitino, Strogino and Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki Districts.
