It’s the section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter
“Construction of the road base has begun on the section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) from Polbin Street to Kuryanovsky Boulevard”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general contractor and general designer of a number of sections of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter.
“In addition to the motorway, this MSD section also includes two flyovers, across Batayskaya Street and across Batyuninskaya Street. Its general readiness is estimated to be nearly 70%”, said the Deputy Mayor.
He noted that the sand layer of the road base is being laid from Polbina Street to Kuryanovsky Boulevard, and the crushed stone and concrete layers of the prospective motorway are being laid.
“The flyover over Batayskaya Street is in a high degree of readiness, with expansion joints being installed and the concrete surface being prepared for waterproofing”, specified the head of the Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the flyover span across Batyuninskaya Street is now being mounted, while reinforcement and concreting of the roadway slab is underway in parallel.
“An underground pedestrian crossing has been completed at the section and its commissioning is being prepared. The retaining wall to preserve the substation of ambulance, located near the high-speed diameter is complete”, added Yuri Kravtsov.
The day before, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, inspected the construction progress of the neighbouring section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter, from Kuryanovsky Boulevard to Kantemirovskaya Street.
“There are three interchanges here on this section that integrate Kuryanovskaya Embankment, Kashirskoye Shosse and Kaspiyskaya Street. It is a very challenging project. It seems to be short enough, 8 km of direct travel, but 3 km of these are in the air on huge flyovers, plus the adjacent road network. And all this together creates such a serious project, including a large bridge over the Moskva River”, said the Mayor of Moscow.
