It will become a part of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter
“Construction of the overpass structures over the Kursky suburban railway line at the southern segment of the Moscow High-SpeedDiameter (South-East Chord) entered its final stage”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding acts as a general contractor and general designer of several sections of the South-East Chord (SEC).
“As a part of the section of the Moscow high-speed diameter from the Paveletsky suburban direction of Moscow Railway to the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD), construction of the overpass structure of the main route through the Kursky suburban railway line of the Moscow Railways entered its final stage”, said the Deputy Mayor.
He noted that in order to construct a 1.2 km long overpass, three main types of superstructures are identified: cast-in-situ and prefabricated reinforced concrete structures are already fully completed, and completion of the steel superstructure is estimated by more than a third.
“This section will provide access to the highway from the district of Biryulyovo Zapadnoye, and integrate with Dorozhnaya Street, which functions as a back-up road for Varshavskoye Highway”, clarified the Head of Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.
According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the selected technological approach will optimize construction of the overpass and maintain regular traffic flow on MCD-2.
“On the second, 300-metre overpass near the Krasny Stroitel platform, the specialists began to install the superstructure on the launching slipway. All five pillars of the future overpass are ready, in spring we will proceed with sliding the span”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.
Specialists of MIP-Stroy 1, which is part of Mosinzhproekt Holding, continue building a tunnel-type overpass under the Paveletsky suburban direction of Moscow Railway.
“Using the micro-tunnel complexes, we are shaping a protective screen using the metal pipes. In the course of pit excavation from the tunnel, the earth will take on the load from the railway track. 46 out of 88 tunnel-driving runs are already accomplished: the upper tier of the structure is fully ready, the work started on arranging vertical rows and fixing the soil mass”, said Konstantin Maslakov, General Director of MIP-Stroy 1.
He also specified, that additional safety of train traffic in the area of construction is ensured by the structural bridges, by means of which the railway tracks are strengthened.
“Potential draw-downs and track displacements are monitored around the clock”, added Konstantin Maslakov.
Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, announced about the decision to stitch together the North-East and South-East Chords into a new city highway under a possible name of the Moscow High-SpeedDiameter.
“For the millions of car owners, creation of the Moscow High-SpeedDiameter will constitute a new transport reality: faster and more comfortable travels from one area of the city to another. Bypassing the center, it will take only 40 minutes to drive through the entire city without a single traffic light”, wrote Sergei Sobyanin in his blog.
