DESIGN OF ABOVEGROUND PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IN MNYOVNIKOVSKAYA FLOODPLAIN IS COMPLETE

The design documentation of the aboveground pedestrian crossing on the developing territory of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain has passed the state expertise, according to Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC.

Mosinzhproekt is the operator of several major urban planning projects, including the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain.

Mosinzhproekt Design Institute has developed an architectural solution for the aboveground pedestrian crossing. The artificial structure will be shaped like a pipe, part of the facades and transverse rings of the translucent part of the structure will be red”, noted Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the company specified that the aboveground crossing would be approximately located near building 2 of house 42 on Nizhniye Mnyovniki Street.

“The aboveground crossing will provide residents and guests of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain with a smooth and safe connection between the Moscow River embankment and the area close to the Mnyovniki BCL metro station”, emphasised Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.

Mr. Rustam Cherkesov, Director General of Mosinzhproekt Institute (the company’s head design organisation), noted that the crossing would consist of two major parts.

“The project provides for the construction of two spans, about 51 and 38 metres long, with an intermediate pier located on the islet between the traffic areas. One exit is planned to be three-level, the second will be a two-level one. Elevators will be installed for handicapped people “, informed Mr. Rustam Cherkesov.

He added that the design of the aboveground pedestrian crossing had been carried out using information modeling technologies (IMT), which enabled to accelerate the development and improve the quality of issued documentation.

Recall that Mosinzhproekt acts as an operator for a number of major urban planning projects in Moscow, such as the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain, the vacated territory of the Khrunichev Space Center, as well as the Kommunarka ABC in New Moscow. The total area of the facilities scheduled for construction exceeds 12 million square metres. At the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain territory, experts from Mosinzhproekt coordinate the integrated construction of utilities, motorways, and the creation of convenient walking routes.

During its 65-year history Mosinzhproekt, which celebrates its anniversary in October 2023, took part in the creation of more than 6,000 km of highways, over 100 bridges and flyovers, 300 underground and aboveground pedestrian crossings in Moscow. Recall that based on projects developed by the company since 2011, 10 capital’s outbound routes were reconstructed, namely Volgogradsky and Ryazansky Avenues, Dmitrovskoye, Leningradskoye, Kashirskoye, Mozhaiskoye, Volokolamskoye, Varshavskoye, Yaroslavskoye and Entuziastov highways.
