“Development of design documents for the extension section of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line in the Golyanovo District is underway”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“The lay-out of the extension section of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line has been approved by the Constructing Metro Board of Directors SUE “Moscow Metro”, the running tunnels will run from the Schyolkovskaya station under Uralskaya and Ussuriyskaya Streets at a depth of 10 to 23 metres. The new Golyanovo station will be located at the intersection of Ussuriyskaya and Sakhalinskaya streets”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, the length of the section from Schyolkovskaya to the Golyanovo station will be 2.6 km.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the project envisages the construction of a station complex with two concourses and exits to the city on both sides of Ussuriyskaya Street for the convenience of the residents. The area around the station is planned to be further landscaped.

“Currently, the engineering surveys are being carried out: geodetic, geological, hydrological, geophysical and environmental, essential for further design work. It is planned to start preparing the area for construction at the end of 2022”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

The new metro station will improve transport accessibility of the Golyanovo District, where about 160 thousand residents live, and will relieve Schyolkovskoe Highway and the Schyolkovskaya station by about a quarter. The expected passenger traffic of the station will be about 60 thousand people a day.
