The main line across the Gorodnya River is ready at 90%
“Construction of the eight section of the South-Eastern Chord (SEC) from Marshal Shestopalov street to the Paveletsky suburban railway line of Moscow Railway (MZD) is 54% completed”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the general contractor and general designer of several sections of the South-Eastern Chord.
“Operational readiness of the flyover of the main line across the Gorodnya River is estimated at 90%. Here, the work on waterproofing and protective concrete pad laying for the flyover driveway is near completion. Laying of the first layer of asphalt concrete surface has begun”, Deputy Mayor said.
According to him, the total of 10 engineering structures are under construction at the section of SEC-8.
“Readiness of the flyover across the Kotlyakovsky stream is 70%, installation of the superstructure beams is already completed, the work is under way to accommodate the leveling layer on the driveway”, said the Head of Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.
The Head of Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction spoke about completion of concreting for the span structures of the flyover across Kantemirovskaya street.
“75% of the spans are embedded in concrete, completion of these work is scheduled for the end of November”, Bochkarev said.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that four underground pedestrian crossings are under construction at this section.
“One crossing is already fully ready. Construction of another one will be accomplished in the near future, with finishing works being nearly over. Two more crossings are ready at a quarter, in-situ concreting is under way”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.
The General Director added that construction of two treatment plants is in progress at the section as well. The pits are already excavated, and engineering anchor systems are being installed.
The chord system of expressways, which also includes construction of the South-Eastern Chord, is a key mega project in view of development of the road and transport frame of Moscow.
The chords will interconnect remote districts of the capital city, thus reducing the load on the road network in the center of the capital, as well as on the Moscow Automobile Ring Road (MKAD) and the Third Ring Road (TTK).
