“Employees of Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, who participated in fighting forest fires in the Ryazan region, were awarded the gratitude of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM of Russia), and the Department of civil defence, emergencies and fire safety of Moscow”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies participates as an operator of Moscow’s key urban planning programmes and is included in the List of backbone organisations of the Russian economy in the construction, housing and utilities sector.
“The holding’s employees mobilised to fight forest fires in the Ryazan region were awarded the gratitude by the leadership of the EMERCOM of Russia and the Department of civil defence, emergencies and fire safety of Moscow”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
According to him, the departments noted high professionalism, conscientious work and personal contribution of the specialists of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies being involved and emphasised that the personnel fulfilled all the tasks with dignity.
Vladimir Dorovskiy, Deputy General Director for Quality, Safety and Health Protection, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the employees of the Group of Companies had been clearing forest roads with bulldozers and arranging special fire barriers with a total length of about 14 km for 10 days in the Ryazan region.
“Creation of fire barriers, i.e cleared from all combustible materials down to the mineral soil layer, helped prevent the fire from spreading across the ground to large areas of woodlands and protected nearby settlements from fire”, specified Vladimir Dorovskiy.
He added that 8 km of forest roads had also been cleared with bulldozers and a ford had been provided cutting the route to the fire suppression scenes almost in three times. Moreover, the firefighters of Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies were provided with equipment and mandatory means of personal and collective protection, and equipped with construction machinery required for clearing.
As noted by Konstantin Maslakov, General Director of MIPSTROY 1 (the leading construction division of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies), all the tasks were successfully fulfilled thanks to the personal heroism of the builders and using of modern technology.
“In addition to arranging fire barriers, the volunteers of MIPSTROY 1 also carried out the task of clearing roads for the passage of special equipment. We had to work in very difficult conditions, including strong wind at night, which helped accelerate the spread of the fire”, said Konstantin Maslakov.
The head of MIPSTROY 1 added that the most comfortable conditions were created in a specially organised tent camp for all who participated in fighting forest fires.
