EXCAVATION WORK AT THE NARODNOYE OPOLCHENIYE STATION OF THE RUBLYOVO-ARKHANGELSKAYA LINE HAS BEEN COMPLETED

“Excavation work, retaining walls installation and excavation bracing at the construction site of the Narodnoye Opolcheniye station on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line have been completed”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“The excavation work is complete, with 141 thousand cubic metres of mechanised mining. The main structures of the station are being constructed, and the cast-in-situ structure of the buckle plate and station walls has begun”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor specified that the Narodnoye Opolcheniye station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line located along Demian Bedny Street at its intersection with Prospect Marshala Zhukova, had two underground entrance concourses.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that the northern concourse would provide access to Demian Bedny Street.

“The northern concourse will provide access to stop pavilions of surface passenger transport, residential development and public facilities. The southern concourse will provide exit to Prospect Marshala Zhukova, and it will also be used to interchange to the operating Narodnoye Opolcheniye station of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the holding recalled that the tunneling between the Narodnoye Opolcheniye and Zvenigorodskaya stations of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line had been completed.

The ‘Viktoria’ tunnel boring machine (TBM) has completed tunnelling of the right running tunnel and the ‘Natalie’ TBM has tunnelled the left running tunnel between these stations under construction.

The first section of the 12.6 km long Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line will feature the following stations: Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye, Bulvar Karbysheva, Serebryany Bor, Strogino and Lipovaya Roscha.

A new radial metro line will run from the Moscow City business centre to Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoe beyond the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, where a large residential and business district is being formed. The line will also improve transport accessibility in Mitino, Strogino and Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki Districts.
