Construction workers have started the floor granite cladding of the platform section of the future Novatorskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“The design and decoration work in the passenger area has started at the Novatorskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line, which is under construction. In particular, the platform floor is being clad with two grades of Siberian granite – light grey and heat-treated granite”, said Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
According to Deputy Mayor, the image of the station will be in a modern aesthetics style: the suspended ceiling and the upper part of the tunnel walls will be made of multi-format polished aluminum panels with orange-painted caissons, the floor and the two rows of columns will be clad with light grey granite, while the plinth will be of black gabbro-diabase.
“When finishing, durable and high-quality domestically produced materials that meet up-to-date standards and meet their functional purpose, are used “, emphasised Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that simultaneously excavation and cast-in-situ work were almost complete at the station, the installation of escalators was being completed, excavation backfill is two-thirds complete, and the and the completeness of the architectural decoration of the office premises exceeded a third.
“The installation of utilities has already started: cable networks, pipelines and air ducts are being installed, and the installation of equipment at the traction step-down substation will soon begin”, added Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.
Mosinzhproekt CEO recalled that the station was being constructed along the odd side of Leninsky Avenue between its intersections with Novatorov Street and Akademika Pilyugina Street. That would be the interchange station with the Novatorskaya station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro. The main structures of the future interchange are complete, in addition to this, tunnelling of the headshunts behind the station continues by closed method under the protection of the tube screen.
“The ‘Novatorskaya’ excavation pit is one of the longest on the Troitskaya line in general, its length is more than 760 metres with four-track headshunts and exit chamber providing connection with the BCL”, emphasised Mr. Yuri Kravtsov. He estimated the general engineering readiness of the station at more than two thirds.
Recall that the construction of the more than 40 km long Troitskaya Line is carried out stage by stage. It will connect the platforms of the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) with the urban district of Troitsk, passing through the Southern, South-Western, Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts of the capital. The expected daily passenger traffic flow is about 100 thousand people per day. About 1 million people live near the new stations, and several hundred thousand more work or study nearby.
Previously, Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, inspected the progress of work at the Novatorskaya station under construction.
“This line is very important. Around 1.5 million people live or work in its attraction zone. Virtually every tenth Muscovite will somehow feel the improved transport situation once this line is commissioned”, said Mr. Sergei Sobyanin.
