FINISHING OF THE PLATFORM AREA IS COMPILED WITH GRANITE AND MARBLE AT THE VARSHAVSKAYA BCL STATION

The renovation of the equipment is underway

“Finishing work is being completed on the platform section of the Varshavskaya station. Cladding of the western and eastern concourses is being implemented”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“The cladding work is complete on the platform section. The floor is laid with granite, the track walls are compiled with white marble panels, and the columns are finished with dark marble”, informed Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, the renovation of the utility equipment at Varshavskaya is also underway. Advanced systems will enable the station, first opened in 1969, to keep the appropriate level of transport safety and comfort for passengers.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, said that the installation of the metal structures of the smoke extraction columns and their cladding is to be completed as part of the finishing work at the platform.

“In the western concourse of the station, located on the Chongarskiy Boulevard side, the finishing work is already one-third complete. In the eastern concourse, which has exits to the Varshavskaya platform of the Paveletskoye direction of the Moscow Railway, the floor is being compiled with granite”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the engineering holding added that the floor of the concourses is being finished with light grey Shimanovsky granite, the walls will be faced with panels of white Sayan marble and dark Labradorite and Gabbro granites.

Recall, the Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya stations of the former Kakhovskaya Line are being reconstructed to integrate them into the BCL. The Kakhovskaya station is already operating as part of the BCL.
