The main structure is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year
“The ceremonial consecration of the foundation stone for the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Berezovaya Alley in the north-eastern district of Moscow was held at the construction site of the prospective church complex”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general contractor to construct the facility.
“During a grand ceremony attended by representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate, Vladimir Resin, Deputy of the State Duma, and municipal authorities, the foundation stone for the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Berezovaya Alley was consecrated and a memorial capsule was placed”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
According to him, this was preceded by the preliminary work required by the builders, who, among other things, prepared a special quadrangular well for placing the laying capsule in accordance with the Orthodox tradition.

“At the same time, in-situ concreting continues on the construction site. Following completion of the concrete vaults and the ground floor slabs, where the Church of Saint Blessed Xenia of Saint Petersburg will be located, the reinforcement and concreting of the columns of the first floor of the church complex are underway”, specified the head of the holding.
He recalled that the church currently under construction, with a total area of over 2,200 square metres and a height of about 60 metres, will be built to accommodate 1,500 worshipers, including people with restricted mobility.
“The main structure of the building is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year”, emphasised Yuri Kravtsov.
A new Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is being erected on the territory of a former industrial zone at the intersection of Berezovaya Alley and Selskokhozyaystvennaya Street in the North-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. It is expected to become one of the largest church complexes in Moscow. The work is being implemented in close cooperation with the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
