INSTALLATION OF 17 ESCALATORS AT THE PECHATNIKI BCL STATION IS COMPLETE

“The Pechatniki station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) has 17 escalators installed. This is the largest number of lifting mechanisms in the eastern section of the BCL”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to construct new stations of the Moscow metro.

“Builders have completed installation of the last five escalators at the Pechatniki station of the Big Circle Line. This brings the total number of lifting mechanisms installed to 17. It is planned to start load testing in the near future”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, 11 elevators have been installed in concourse 1 and another six in concourse 2.

“The escalator equipment installed in concourse 1 will provide passenger lifts from two levels of the station complex: from the two side platforms to the bridge crossing between them, and from there to the concourse level with an interchange to the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line. The escalators in concourse 2 will allow passengers to lift from the platform part to the level of the ticket hall to the exit to Shosseynaya Street and to the interchange to MCD 2”, specified Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Konstantin Maslakov, General Director of MIPSTROY 1, architectural and finishing work continues in the passenger and utility areas of the Pechatniki station.

“Floor is being laid with granite and glossy aluminium panels are being installed on the tunnel walls and ceiling. The columns located beside the escalators and staircase descending the crossing bridge are decorated with panels in black in the form of a two-letter “П” (P) design. The image of the capital letter of the station’s name is evident throughout the architecture. In addition, the passenger area is finished in the typical colours of the print shop: white and black”, says Konstantin Maslakov.

The head of MIPSTROY 1 also added that the installation and commissioning of engineering systems and equipment at the station was underway.

The eastern section of the BCL includes four stations: Klenovy Bulvar, Nagatinsky Zaton, Pechatniki and Tekstilshchiki. The eastern section is 11 km long. Its opening will improve the transport accessibility for a number of districts in the south-east of Moscow.

Creation of the Big Circle Line is the principal project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already open to passengers. The Big Circle Line will link the existing and prospective lines of the Moscow Metro.
