INSTALLATION OF ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING AT THE VARSHAVSKAYA STATION OF THE BIG CIRCLE LINE IS COMPLETE

“Work has been completed on the installation of architectural lighting on the platform of the reconstructed Varshavskaya station of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“During the Varshavskaya station reconstruction, work was fully completed on the renovation of the ceiling and wall light fixtures, custom-made LED structures and other electrical equipment. The architectural finishing of the station is now underway”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor specified that the lighting was estimated to be 80% complete in two concourses of the station.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that in addition to the installation of lighting equipment, granite flooring is being laid in both concourses.

“Walls are being cladded with marble, installation of metal perforated panels on the walls and cabling and wiring products is underway. The western concourse is more than two-thirds complete, the eastern concourse is 50% complete”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the engineering holding recalled that the western concourse is located on the Chongarskiy Boulevard side, while the eastern concourse provides access to the Varshavskaya platform of the Paveletsky suburban railway line.

Yuri Kravtsov added that the track superstructure in the two running tunnels between the Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya stations of the Big Circle Line had been fully completed.
The Kashirskaya and Varshavskaya stations of the former Kakhovskaya Line are being reconstructed to integrate them into the BCL. Kakhovskaya has been operating as part of the Big Circle Line since 2021.

The construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already servicing the passengers.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, has examined the reconstruction progress of the Varshavskaya station of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro.

“A great deal of work on the BCL construction is being completed. We are now in the southern section, it is the old Kakhovskaya – Kashirskaya line, which was the shortest and the most unpopular. Its complete reconstruction, in fact, new construction, integration into the BCL is underway”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
