“Installation of escalators has begun in concourse No. 2 under construction of the Aviamotornaya station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Three 22-metre long escalator runways will be installed in the 10.5-metre high inclined tunnel. They will connect the pedestrian crossing and the ticket hall of the second concourse of the Aviamotornaya station of the Big Circle Line”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to the Deputy Mayor, the builders have already prepared the concrete foundation on which the trusses, metal structures of the escalators, will be installed. Concrete work and backfilling of the mounting hole are also planned.
The cast-in-situ structures are being completed and the architectural finishing is underway in the concourse. In-situ concreting is also underway in the interchange zone under the tracks of the Kazansky suburban railway line which will connect concourse No. 2 with the Aviamotornaya platform section.
The Aviamotornaya station, temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line, is part of the north-eastern BCL section. The construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already servicing the passengers.
