INSTALLATION OF ESCALATORS IN THE NORTH CONCOURSE OF THE OKRUZHNAYA METRO STATION IS COMPLETE

In-situ concreting is 80% complete

“Three escalators have been installed in the north concourse of the Okruzhnaya station on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line of the Moscow Metro, which is currently under construction”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“In the north concourse of the Okruzhnaya station on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line, which is currently under construction, the installation of three escalators with a 108-metre-long inclined course has been completed. The escalators will link the concourse with the existing station”, informed Andrey Bochkarev.

As noted by the Deputy Mayor, in-situ concreting is 80% complete.

“The main structures of the new concourse are scheduled to be completed in early June”, specified Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, hose-proof hoods, special elements of architectural finishing used in the construction of deep level underground stations, have already been prepared and placed in the upper part of the escalator tunnel vault.

“Construction of the above-ground part of the concourse, finishing of the service rooms, glazing of the steel structures and preparations for the utilities installation are also underway. Finishing work is underway in the passenger zone of the concourse”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

The new concourse will be part of the transport interchange hub (TIH) and will integrate the stations of the same name on the MCC and the Moscow Central Diameter’s first route (MCD 1).

Today, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, has inspected the construction progress of the north concourse of the Okruzhnaya metro station on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line.

“There is a lot of activities for the construction of traffic facilities going on in Otradnoye. This is where the city’s major traffic arteries are concentrated. In particular, this transport hub concentrates the Okruzhnaya station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line, which was built in 2018, the MCC and the MCD. All three stations are virtually located at the same site. The objective was set to merge them together. It was rather complicated. We had to build the north concourse of the Okruzhnaya metro, located in complex geological environment. Nevertheless, we were tasked to implement it. The north concourse will be open this year”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
