INSTALLATION OF THE CEILING PANELS HAS STARTED ON THE PLATFORM OF THE RIZHSKAYA BCL STATION

“Installation of parasol panels has started on the ceiling of the platform section of the Rizhskaya station in the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to build the new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“Work continues on the architectural finishing of the platform section of the Rizhskaya station, the floor is laid with granite by more than one third. The builders began to install parasol panels along the central part of the platform, and similar work is underway above the tracks”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The head of the Construction Complex that the parasol panels have both decorative and waterproof functions.

“Also, installation of the main architectural elements of the Rizhskaya station continues: metal arched portals which link the central hall with the platforms. In total, there will be 16 arches: eight on each side”, informed Bochkarev.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that preparations are underway to install the architectural lighting of the platform section.

“The utilities are being installed in the concourse of the Rizhskaya station, facing work will be continued after the installation of equipment is completed”, said Kravtsov.

According to the head of the holding, work continues on the installation of umbrellas, lining of the floor with granite, and facing the walls with stone and panels in the interchange zone to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line.

The head of Mosinzhproekt JSC reminded that the Rizhskaya BCL station will be connected by an interchange not only with the same name station of the orange line, but also with Rizhsky Railway Station and platforms of the second diameter, Moscow Central Diameter (MCD 2). The new station of the Big Circle Line will improve transport services in the adjacent areas.

In addition to the Rizhskaya station, the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line includes the Sokolniki and Maryina Roshcha stations under construction and the Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo, Elektrozavodskaya, which are already built and temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line, as well as the connecting line in the Nizhegorodskoe electric depot.

Construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. It will be more than 70 kilometres long, with 31 stations, 22 of which are already open to passengers.
