“The main stage of the Salaryevo electric depot construction for servicing the rolling stock of the Sokolnicheskaya and Troitskaya metro lines has started”, reported Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.

The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“Preliminary work at the Salaryevo electric depot construction site is almost complete. The construction of the main facility building, the stabling and repair building, has started. The bored piles are already being installed at the foundation level”, noted Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, the depot under construction will cover an area of 16 hectares and include 37 new buildings and facilities. It will create 1,400 new jobs in the capital.

“Today, the excavation for the future motor depot is also almost complete here, and the laying of foundations for the building will soon begin”, added Deputy Mayor.

Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, mentioned the completion of retaining walls in-situ concreting and their backfilling, as well as the permanent fencing of the depot perimeter and the creation of a monolithic collector for internal utility lines at the electric depot among the immediate plans for the facility construction.

“Three connecting lines are being constructed to integrate the depot into the metro system, including both ground and underground sections, which will connect it to the existing Sokolnicheskaya underground line”, explained Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the holding specified that three above-ground lines have already been constructed from the Kommunarka station of the Sokolnicheskaya metro line to the depot borders, and then the trains will travel through its territory to the stabling and repair building underground – these sections are being constructed in cut-and-cover method.

The earthwork for the three line sections in the electric depot territory is 60% complete, while the monolith of their ramp structures is estimated to be half-ready.

Recall that the electric depot is an important part of the metro network development. The depots ensure uninterrupted operation of both existing and new lines of the Moscow Metro. 11 electric depots have been constructed or reconstructed in the capital city with the participation of the Mosinzhproekt Holding during the past 10 years.
