A self-climbing forms system has started working on the construction of the high-altitude part of the NSC
“The installation of metal floors in the gallery area of the National Space Center (NSC) is 87% complete”, informed Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a managing company for constructional engineering projects.
“At the moment in-situ concreting on the low-rise (up to 10 floors) part of the NSC are coming to an end, and installation of metal floors in the gallery zone of the future space center is 87% complete,” noted Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, the cast-in-situ structures of the tower basement are already ready on the construction site, and the readiness of the first floor is estimated at one-half.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, explained that the self-climbing forms system to erect the 288-meter tower is already in place. The system is already running.
“The use of the self-climbing forms system will make it possible to perform three standard floors per month with a further increase to four floors. The work is supposed to be carried out around the clock and will involve about 250 people per day,” said Yuri Kravtsov.
Also, according to the General Director, during the main phase of the work, it is supposed to erect the core of the high-altitude building starting from the 2nd floor using a self-elevating platform. It is planned to pour 870 cubic meters of concrete on each standard floor.
Recall that using a self-climbing forms system involves placing all the equipment needed to perform concreting on a single platform. Moving the formwork platform to the next storey level is automated. The safety of work is ensured by safety screens fencing.
The National Space Center under construction will bring together the leading organizations of the Russian rocket and space cluster, including the central office and situational center of the Roscosmos State Corporation, the headquarters of several organizations of the rocket and space industry, industry institutes, youth design offices, production diversification center, a business support center, and other facilities.
