METRO BRIDGES WILL BE BUILT BETWEEN THE BIG CIRCLE LINE OF THE MOSCOW METRO AND THE AMINYEVSKOE ELECTRIC DEPOT

“Metro bridges are being built on the connecting line from the Aminyevskaya and Davydkovo stations of the Big Circle Line (BCL) to the Aminyevskoye electric depot”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“At the Aminyevskaya station, the 475-metre-long single-track bridge will start from the surface ramp of the connecting line, pass over the Navershka River, cross Vereyskaya Street and General Dorokhov Street and directly join the Aminyevskoye electric depot”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the connecting line starts underground at the Aminyevskaya station and then goes into the ground section along Aminyevskoye Shosse.

“Two metro bridges are also being built on the connecting line between the depot and the Davydkovo BCL station. These bridges will pass over the Setun River and Vereyskaya Street and will also join the depot area”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

According to Rustam Cherkesov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt Institute LLC (the head design organisation of the Group of Companies), the three engineering structures have a similar design.

“The bridges are one or two П-shaped galleries of steel structures mounted on reinforced concrete spans. They are covered with a seam metal roof to protect the tracks from precipitation and restrict access to unauthorised persons to the facilities”, specified Rustam Cherkesov.

He also added that the bridge spans in the junction with the electric depot will be at the same height with roof overlap at the ridge and an air gap for ventilation and smoke extraction capability if necessary.

The Aminyevskoye electric depot is designed to maintain the rolling stock of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro along with the Zamoskvoretskoye and Nizhegorodskoye depots.

Previously, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, inspected the construction progress of the Aminyevskoye electric depot.

“Three electric depots, including Aminyevskoye, will be used for the operation of the Big Circle Line, which is being built on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation at an accelerated pace. It is one of the largest electric depots not only in the Moscow Metro but in the whole country. It will be equipped with cutting edge equipment. It is the timely launch of the electric depot that will make it possible to launch the Big Circle Line as planned”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
