MODERN CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES ARE USED AT NSC SITE

It enables to increase the quality and safety of work

“The National Space Centre (NSC) in the west of Moscow is being built using advanced materials and technologies”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a managing company for the construction project.

“Construction is being carried out using advanced technologies, materials and approaches to work organisation. Their introduction enables to essentially increase the quality and safety of work, the efficiency of each worker and the speed of construction”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the head of the Construction complex, a self-climbing hydraulic formwork system is used to construct the 288-metre tower: the equipment required for laying concrete is placed on a single platform.

“The material used here is a self-compacting concrete mix, which hardens faster than normal due to a specially selected composition”, added Andrey Bochkarev.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, said that labour saving tools were used for the construction work.

“For example, special rebar tying guns are used in in-situ concreting. A total of more than 40 pieces of construction machinery and equipment are being used on the site. Approximately 1,200 people work simultaneously on the site”, Yuri Kravtsov said.

In addition to the tower and low-rise buildings, a congress and business centre building and an underground parking adjacent to the complex are being constructed as part of the NSC complex of buildings with an area of more than 250, thousand square metres. All NSC premises will be interconnected by means of a closed walkway.
