Over 21 thousand people in total are currently constructing the Moscow metro facilities
“More than 15,000 people are involved at a time in the construction of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Program.
“More than 15,000 people are currently involved in the construction of the BCL, with around 11,000 people working on the 2021 start-up line, which includes the western, southwestern and southern sections of the Big Circle Line. The work is being carried out around the clock on a three-shift basis,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
For his part, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that over 21 thousand people in total are currently constructing the Moscow metro facilities.
“The Dmitrovskaya Line and the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line are under construction, including the new Troitskaya Line as well as the construction and reconstruction of four electric depots”, clarified the holding head.
As a reminder, the technical launch of the Big Circle Line section from the Mnyovniki station to Davydkovo station took place earlier with Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, attending the ceremony.
The construction of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow metro is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. It is more than 70 kilometres long with 31 stations, 12 of which have already been opened to passengers, with 9 new stations and a reconstructed station to be opened by the end of the year.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding has been the main contractor for the capital’s metro development programme since 2011. During this time, 105 kilometers of metro lines were built, 51 stations and 11 electric depots were put into operation, 6 of them are the new ones, and 5 are reconstructed, with the participation of the holding.
