The Open City exhibition, held as part of the Architecture and Career Festival, aroused great interest among Muscovites and industry experts. On 16-17 November, more than a thousand people attended the exhibition in the wing ‘Ruinate Pavilion’ of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture.
In addition to Moscow, residents of Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Naberezhnye Chelny, Kazan and other Russian cities joined the themed events of the festival.
The Open City hosted 12 architectural workshops over six months: Theatre, Dance, Music, Nature, Phygital, Movie, Animation, Art, Fashion, Gastronomy, Foodtech, Archaeology.
More than 2,000 people attended lectures, participated in guided tours and other events during the Open City project.
A professional jury of 35 professionals and experts in various fields and industries selected the winners of the festival. The Architecture + Archaeology workshop led by KATARSIS ab won the Festival of Architecture Education and Careers.
Experts from Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding, acting as the official partner of the festival exhibition, participated in assessment of the works of the participants.
“The students-competitors’ projects contain interesting ideas and original solutions that can be successfully applied in both civil and infrastructure construction. Through such competitions, Moscow reveals new gifted architects who are capable to make a serious contribution to the urban development of our city”, said Mikhail Nadot, Deputy General Director for Engineering of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
The business programme of the exhibition as part of the Open City Festival of Architecture Education and Careers, initiated by the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development (Moskomarkhitektura), included a presentation of the study ‘The New Generation of Architectural Bureaus in Moscow’, a competition for the best graduation theses from the year 2022, the “Your Own Bureau” marathon and educational seminars.
