MOSINZHPROEKT HAS ADOPTED THE SMART 12 SAFETY STANDARD

It summarizes the basic requirements for ensuring life and health safety

“Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies has approved SMART 12, a new standard of key safety, industrial, fire and environmental regulations”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the key urban planning programmes in the Russian capital.

“Occupational safety should not only be a list of mandatory rules and regulations, but also a part of every employee’s professional culture at Mosinzhproekt”. SMART 12 Regulations are a code of conduct that summarizes the basic requirements for ensuring the safety of personnel, including contractors, in offices and on construction sites”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

According to him, heads of all structural divisions should act as role models for their subordinates, so the first point of the standard calls for them to be leaders in safety compliance as well.

A whole block of rules deals with the use of personal protective equipment, high risk work, working at height and in confined spaces. SMART 12 also includes fire regulations, road and equipment safety measures.

It is also noted that taking of photographs and videos is banned on construction sites without special permission, as well as using mobile phones. In addition, SMART 12 requires all employees of the holding to protect the environment from the negative impact.

Vladimir Dorovskiy, Deputy General Director for Quality, Safety and Health Protection, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection at Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that the new code of conduct is based on the best current practices.

“The Group of Companies does not treat occupational safety as a formality. In preparing the standard, global competence in the employee security was analysed. SMART 12 regulations are easy to comprehend and follow and being as close as possible to real life situations”, added Vladimir Dorovskiy.

He reminded that Mosinzhproekt successfully completed the management systems audit for compliance with international quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) requirements in 2021.

Also last year, Mosinzhproekt’s video about safety regulations at construction sites won in the “Corporates – Best Corporate Video” ReMovie Awards at the First Festival of Video Advertising and Cinematography in Construction and Real Estate.
