MOSINZHPROEKT IMPLEMENTS SEPARATE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING OF PLASTIC WASTE

“Separate collection of plastic waste, which is sent for recycling, is being steadily implemented at the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies’ facilities”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, at the Moscow Urban Forum, which takes place from 1 to 21 August 2022 in the format of the City for All exhibition on key urban planning projects in Moscow.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is an Exclusive partner of the event, the participant of Moscow’s key urban planning programmes and is included in the List of backbone organisations of the Russian economy in the construction, housing and utilities sector.

“The holding upholds the principles of sustainable development and efficient use of resources, as well as minimising the negative impact on the environment, so the construction sites implement separate collection and accumulation of waste, which is then sent for recycling. Thus, we give plastic a second life”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

According to him, Mosinzhproekt engages contracting companies involved in the construction of the holding’s facilities to implement separate collection, involving more and more people in environmental protection activities and forming a trend towards environmentally friendly activities on all stages of construction.

Vladimir Dorovskiy, Deputy General Director for Quality, Safety and Health Protection, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that both construction and household plastic wastes are collected at the sites.

“We’ve managed to find a national production company that can recycle not only household plastic waste, but also the film, for example, that is used for packaging construction materials. Thus, we’ve managed to significantly increase the volume of recyclables sent for recycling”, said Vladimir Dorovskiy.

He recalled that the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies has a modern environmental safety control system at the facilities. The environmental regulations adopted at Mosinzhproekt Holding meet the requirements of the Russian legislation and international standard ISO 14001. In addition to the mandatory environmental measures, the holding develops and applies its own “green” initiatives.

The project of the holding named “Principles of Resource Efficient Use and Minimisation of Negative Environmental Impact” was highly appraised by the Expert Council of the Best ESG Projects in Russia programme and forum in the category of “Responsible Consumption and Production.”
