“Specialists from Mosinzhproekt Institute have developed the design documentation for the prospective bridge across the Pekhorka River with the adjacent street and road network”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.

Mosinzhproekt Institute is the principal design organisation of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, the operator of Moscow’s key urban development programmes.

“The bridge will be located on the border of the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow and the Moscow Region, at the intersection of the Pekhorka River and the Zeninskoye Highway. The engineering structure and the adjacent street and road network will ensure uncongested traffic between the northern section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) and the Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Kazan highway”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

According to him, the overfly will consist of two three-lane steel and reinforced concrete spans with cast-in-situ bridge road with a length of 311 and 316 metres. Each part will be supported by six cast-in-situ reinforced concrete pillars.

“The length of the Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Kazan highway junction with the northern part of the MSD is 855 metres and exit ramps are also provided. The design documentation for the bridge and street and road network has been completed and submitted to Mosgosexpertiza (Moscow State Expertise)”, added the head of the engineering holding.

Mikhail Nadot, Acting Deputy General Director for Engineering of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that information modelling technology (IMT) was used to prepare the design documentation.

“The information model made it possible to calculate, within a very short time period, the specifications for the structural elements of the bridge and adjacent road structures, to determine the amount of construction materials required and the scope of the construction work to be carried out. Digital technologies have made it possible to identify mismatches and collisions”, said Nadot.

“The design of the bridge over the Pekhorka River was selected by the Institute as a pilot to apply information modelling technologies when creating a complex object of the street and road network and linking it to the existing major highways”, said Rustam Cherkesov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt Institute LLC.
