“The conceptual design and design documentation for the buildings of the complex of flora and fauna with an oceanarium and a greenhouse, a theme park and a museum and exhibition complex of the prospective “Attraction” public space in Magnitogorsk are being developed”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.

Mosinzhproekt Institute, the main design organisation of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, is the general designer of the “Attraction” public space.

“The 59 Meridian complex, which will house an oceanarium and a greenhouse, will occupy an area of about 8,000 square metres, making it one of the largest among similar facilities in Russia. It will consist of two main exhibitions “Underwater World” and “Jungle” which will house more than 3,000 species of flora and fauna, the complex can accommodate more than 600 visitors at a time”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the engineering holding also said that work was underway on the 42-hectare theme park “Living Steel”.

“An art gallery, two exhibition halls and ten craft pavilions will be in the area. When creating the park terrain, it is planned to use geoplastics, landscape design, flower beds and pathways”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

Rustam Cherkesov, Director General of Mosinzhproekt Institute LLC, added that as part of the “Attraction”, it is also planned to create a museum and exhibition space called “Universe of Metal”.

“The museum and education complex will include two functional areas. The first is a museum space, while the second zone is an educational, business and research centre. The total area of the building will be around 24 thousand square metres”, said Rustam Cherkesov.

The head of the design institute specified that “59 Meridian”, “Living Steel” park and the “Universe of Metal” museum and educational complex are part of the second design phase of the “Attraction”, while the first stage is currently completing the design of a 40 metre-high scenic view hill with an all-season ski slope and observation platform, an artificial lake with a footbridge and beach area, an indoor children’s amusement park and a fitness centre.

Recall that the facilities of the first phase of the “Attraction” project were opened in July 2022, including a central entrance with a boulevard, an information centre, a food mall, a playground and a roller park.

The client for the “Attraction” project in Magnitogorsk is Territory of Attraction LLC, funded by the personal funds of V.F. Rashnikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MMK PJSC. Mosinzhproekt Institute has been selected as the general designer of the public space as a result of competitive procedures. According to the concept, a landscaped park zone, sports, children’s, educational and leisure facilities, and recreational facilities will be created on the territory of 220 hectares in Magnitogorsk.
