Sustainable development is the key prioritie of the holding
“Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding’s policy on quality, safety and health protection, and environmental safety, as well as the project of the energy-generating flooring introduction in the Moscow Metro, participate in the “Reliable partner – ecology” All-Russian competition”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
Mosinzhproekt acts as the operator of the key urban planning programs of the Russian capital.
“Ecology and sustainable development are the key priorities of Mosinzhproekt, reflected in the company’s new policy on quality, safety and health protection, and environmental safety. The holding has developed training programmes aimed at increasing knowledge about ecology,” said Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of Mosinzhproekt specified that the local regulations of the holding on environmental safety enforce the expanded environmental requirements by the company’s employees, subsidiaries and affiliates, as well as contractors and subcontractors.
Vladimir Dorovskiy, Deputy General Director for Quality, Safety and Health Protection, Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that a project for the introduction of energy-generating tiles, which can convert the kinetic energy of steps of passengers of the Moscow metro into electricity, has been nominated at the competition.
“The tile is made of a flexible material. When a passenger steps on it, it sags for 5-6 millimetres, and when the stress stops, electricity occurs. The steps of hundreds of thousands of the Moscow metro passengers can provide electricity to turnstiles and ticket vending machines, info signs and markings. This project has been introduced as part of the 10th Moscow Urban Forum,” specified Vladimir Dorovskiy.
With the projected passenger traffic of 380 million people per year on the Big Circle Line, it is possible to generate up to 6 MW of clean energy per day with an energy-generating tile.
The “Reliable Partner – Ecology” All-Russian competition is held by the Reliable Partner Association together with the Russian Ecological Society with support from the Council of the Federation Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management. The final stage of the competition, in which 274 projects in 26 categories are competing, will be held on November 11, 2021.
As a reminder, the expert council of the independent ECO BEST AWARD commended the system of contractors’ management at the holding’s facilities in environmental safety developed by Mosinzhproekt. The company was a recipient of a 2021 award “For implementing an effective environmental safety system in construction”.
