“Representatives of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies demonstrated their developments in information modelling technologies (IMT) at the White Nights of CAD: Construction forum in Saint Petersburg”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro. The company was included in the List of backbone organisations of the Russian economy in the construction and housing and utilities sector.
“When creating complex objects, all data and processes need to be synchronised already at the design stage. Mosinzhproekt’s experts develop project design documentation for new facilities in Common Data Environment (CDE), which is a structured digital storehouse of information models”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
He emphasized that the CDE is based on national software.
“The common data environment is used to create new lines of the Moscow Metro: Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya and Biryulyovskaya. Due to project participants working in a common environment, it is possible to link the systems of the prospective construction project, minimising errors and mismatches”, said Kravtsov.
Mikhail Nadot, Acting Deputy General Director for Engineering of Mosinzhproekt JSC, stressed that further IMT implementation into work processes is a requirement of the time.
“Legislation obliges to use information modelling technologies when working on projects for public entities. Development of IMT, adaptation of the “digits” to the projects being implemented and prospective projects is a matter of maintaining the leading position among organisations involved in underground construction”, added Mikhail Nadot.
The creation of a common data environment for the needs of underground construction is a joint development of two specialised divisions of Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies. The Technical Policy and IMP Department of the head company of the holding was building up the structure of CDE and the functional and technical requirements of the system. It was created by the experts of the newly established Information Modelling Technology Department of Mosinzhproekt Institute, the Group’s leading project organisation.
Rustam Cherkesov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt Institute LLC, specified that optimisation of work processes in the design institute was required due to the active development of the common data environment and other digital technologies.
“The new department includes IMT specialists, programmers, IT specialists who are involved in the development of digital technology specifically developed for the design of metro facilities. This is the most important area for the Institute”, informed Rustam Cherkesov.
At the White Nights CAD: Construction annual forum, participants share practical experiences of digitalisation based on national software. In 2022, the forum has been dedicated to the development of software products that enable a variety of goals to be performed at different stages in the life cycle of a construction project.
Recall, Mosinzhproekt is one of the major engineering holdings in Russia, the operator of the crucial urban planning programmes in Moscow. The holding makes extensive use of digital innovations, modern software systems and advanced construction equipment in design and construction.
