Mosinzhproekt projects are winners of the Best Implemented Project in Construction competition

The winners were awarded by Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, on the Builder’s Day Eve

“New sections of Nekrasovskaya and Big Circle Line (BCL) opened during 2020, and the Nizhegorodskaya Transport Interchange Hub were recognized as the best-implemented projects of the capital”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow metro development program and a participant in implementing the Moscow transport interchange hubs network.

“In recent years, Mosinzhproekt has made a significant contribution to the urban development of the Russian capital, and its projects have won prizes and awards at national and international industry competitions. Today, new victories have been put under the belt: three projects of the holding were awarded in the contest “Best Implemented Project for Construction 2020”, said Yury Kravtsov.

According to him, the BCL section from Aviamotornaya to Elektrozavodskaya with three stations was nominated as the best in the “Construction of Metro and Rail Transport” by the city competition committee, and the section of the Nekrasovskaya Line from Nizhegorodskaya to Yugo-Vostochnaya with four stations won based on the open city popular vote.

“The Nekrasovskaya Line is a new one in the Moscow metro for a long time. In the course of work, the modern technology of metro construction has been successfully tested and applied, for example, tunneling of double-track tunnels using giant 10-meter tunneling machines, which was then used in other section of the metro construction,” explained the head of the holding.

He also recalled that as part of more than a six-kilometer section of the BCL, the three stations, Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo, and Elektrozavodskaya, were opened in 2020, which operate as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line and later will function as part of the Big Circle Line when it will be encircled in 2022. Today, the BCL is a mega project of Moscow metro construction and one of the main infrastructure projects of the holding. A total of 31 stations will operate on the new circle line of the Moscow metro.

“At the interchange between the two lines of Nizhegorodskaya station, we have formed a powerful hub, which includes the MCC platform of the same name, the routes of urban ground transport, and suburban trains. It has become the largest in the capital and one of the most interesting from an architectural point of view of the city. This transport interchange hub was awarded a special prize of the contest for its contribution to the development of the modern transport system of the city in the nomination “Construction of multifunctional complexes and shopping centers,” added Yuri Kravtsov.

The awarding ceremony of the winners was held in the Residence of the Mayor of Moscow. In addition to Yuri Kravtsov, the ceremony was attended by Maxim Shmal, Deputy General Director for operations of Mosinzhproekt JSC, and Valery Kivlyuk, Executive Director – Head of the Metro Construction Division of Mosinzhproekt JSC.

“During seven years of participating in the competition since 2014, the holding has already received 24 awards in various categories – the importance of our work for Muscovites and the quality performance of the goals set by the Moscow authorities is evident,” the head of Mosinzhproekt specified.

Recall that Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, awarded the winners of the annual contest “Best Implemented Project in Construction” on the Builder’s Day Eve. “Moscow, being the largest megalopolis in Europe, is also the fastest of all the other cities to build and develop. It would be impossible to do this if Moscow did not have such professional, responsible builders with world-class competence, passion, dynamism, and desire to make our city one of the best cities in the world,” noted Sergei Sobyanin.

For his part, Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction, noted the importance of the annual contest for the capital’s urban development. “The contest “Best Implemented Project in Construction” has been held for more than 20 years and helps to identify and consolidate the best construction projects and practices that contribute to organizing a comfortable urban environment and improving the quality of life of Muscovites. This year, the competition committee and open city people voting identified 24 winning projects to develop transport, housing, and social infrastructure. I congratulate the contestants and all industry participants on the Builder’s Day. I wish you success to implement new projects and new victories,” said Andrey Bochkarev.

The contest “Best Implemented Project in Construction” has been held in Moscow since 2000 by the Urban Policy and Construction of the capital, the Department of Urban Policy of Moscow, Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning of the city of Moscow (Moskomarhitektura) and the Association of Investors of Moscow. It selects the best projects in different categories commissioned in Moscow in the previous year. The competition is designed to reward the creators of the best buildings and structures and to draw the attention of the public and professionals to the use of modern technologies in construction.
