X Moscow Urban Forum (MUF) held at the beginning of July in Russian capital traditionally gathered the key domestic and foreign experts in the field of urban development and urban planning (including, in particular, about 500 speakers), the leading industry companies were presented in its exposition. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding actively participated in the business and exhibition program of the forum as the Exclusive Partner.
The company has been acting as an operator of the Program of Moscow Metro development, as a managing company for constructional engineering projects, participating in implementing key road projects of the capital and in the Program of Moscow transport interchange hubs development, and managing development projects over the past 10 years.

“Today, Mosinzhproekt is taking the first practical steps to promote its engineering services to world markets: together with major Russian and international partners, it is undergoing a prequalification for participation in promising metro development projects in Turkey, Israel, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia,” Yuri Kravtsov, the General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, said. In particular, the company has successfully passed qualification as a bidder for the design and construction of a light rail line in Jerusalem.
Another important area of holding’s work is implementation of several major urban territorial development projects. They include Mnevnikovskaya Poyma, the territory of Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center and Kommunarka Administrative and Business Center. The total area of land plots is about 1,000 ha, and the summed area of facilities planned for construction exceeds 12 million square meters.
Mosinzhproekt is willing to extend its experience to other large regions and offers them its services for development of large urban agglomerations. According to the head of holding, specialists of the company may take part in planning and development of territories and transport infrastructure of the Russian cities. The activities in this area are carried out: Mosinzhproekt has been selected as the general designer of the Attraction Park Project implemented in Magnitogorsk with the area of 220 ha and conducts negotiations concerning creation of comprehensive development plan for Yekaterinburg in order to improve the effectiveness of its transport network through the construction of metro, tram and railway lines.
The Mosinzhproekt Holding’s stand became one of the most interesting and interactive locations at the Moscow Urban Forum 2021. The central exposition object was the flagship project of the Russian capital — the National Space Center that is being constructed by the engineering holding. For the day, two tower cranes have been installed there for construction of the dominant of the building complex with the height of 288 meter together with a spire.
Besides, video presentations on the construction of landmark facilities in Moscow created by Mosinzhproekt in the past years were demonstrated on the stand. They include Luzhniki GSA (Grand Sports Arena) and Helikon-Opera Theater, Irina Viner-Usmanova Palace of Gymnastics, Voronovskoe Infectious Diseases Hospital and Zaryadye Park with a multifunctional concert hall complex, where the forum was conducted again. Large infrastructure projects — the Big Circle Metro Line and Nizhegorodskaya Transport Interchange Hub, the largest interchange hub in Moscow constructed on the base of Nizhegorodskaya metro station of the said line – implemented with participation of the holding were of particular interest with guests, including Andrey Bochkarev, the head of the Moscow Construction Complex, who visited the exposition.
In their work specialists of the holding take into consideration environmental issues and issues of sustainable resource management, including implementation of innovative solutions in this field. As it was mentioned during MUF, Mosinzhproekt contemplates the possibility of using energy-generating flooring at new metro stations, which, with a view to expected annual Big Circle Line passenger flow of 380 million people, for example, means that this solution will allow generating up to 6 MW of pure energy per day.
Other solutions suggested for implementation include lighting automation and installation of special aerators on water taps at construction sites to save water resources.
Besides, Mosinzhproekt actively uses advanced information modelling (BIM): the company continues working on BIM Competence Center development, which will not only allow making designing easier, but also introducing methodology that allows covering all production processes. “The positive effects for both the project contractor and the customer will include a reduction in construction costs, elimination of errors, and shortening of delivery times through a higher level of work coordination. In addition, the information embedded in the BIM model will be applied at the construction and installation stage and during operation,” the General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC emphasized.
