Mr. Sergei Sobyanin visited the construction site of the Universitet Druzhby Narodov station of the Troitskaya metro line and inspected the construction progress.
Mosinzhproekt is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Universitet Druzhby Narodov is an important station. There are hundreds of thousands of local residents who will use this station. Transport accessibility will be improved for them. However, there are also universities around this station: Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, MSU Faculty of Biology, Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, scientific and medical centres. Of course, the commissioning of the station and the line means a considerable improvement of transport accessibility for them”, said Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, according to the ‘Moskva’ CNA.
Mayor of Moscow emphasized that all 11 stations of the Troitskaya Line will be opened at the same time, making it one of the largest launches in the history of the Moscow Metro. Therefore, intensive work must be carried out at all stations.
Mr. Sergey Grigorkevich, Director General of URST JSC (specialised construction contractor of Mosinzhproekt for metro and tunneling projects), reported to Mayor that the Universitet Druzhby Narodov station is 74% complete.
“The main structures are 99% complete, the design and decoration work is 58% complete, the utility networks are 25% complete, and the backfill is 88% complete. The work continues on schedule. We have started to improve the territory”, informed Mr. Sergey Grigorkevich.
Mosinzhproekt is responsible for the construction of nine stations of the Troitskaya Line: ZIL, Krymskaya, Akademicheskaya, Vavilovskaya, Novatorskaya, Universitet Druzhby Narodov, Generala Tyuleneva, Tyutchevskaya and Kornilovskaya.
The 40 km long Troitskaya metro line will connect the platforms of the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) with the urban district of Troitsk, passing through the Southern, South-Western, Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts of the capital. The expected passenger traffic flow is about 100 thousand people per day. About 1 million people live near the new stations, and several hundred thousand more work or study nearby.
In 2023, Mosinzhproekt celebrates its 65th anniversary. Since 2011, with the involvement of Mosinzhproekt, more than 152 km of metro lines and 70 new metro stations have been commissioned, and 11 electric depots have been constructed and reconstructed. The company’s specialists continue to construct new radial lines of the Moscow metro.
