The section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD), from the Moscow Automobile Ring Road to Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye highway, is 34% complete, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt is a general contractor and general designer of a number of sections of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter.
“The work on the most southern MSD section, from the Moscow Automobile Ring Road to Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye highway, is one-third complete. The 3.6-km-long main road of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter and the 7.32-km-long street and road network are being constructed here. The section is planned to be commissioned in stages”, noted Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
According to Deputy Mayor, the main road of this MSD section will go under the 32nd km of the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, across the Bitsa river, under Simferopolskoye highway and over Varshavskoye highway. The construction of a bridge across the Bitsa river, two tunnels and four flyovers is underway.
Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the construction of the bridge pylons over the Bitsa river continued.
“In the tunnel under Simferopolskoye highway, preparatory work has started for the construction of the second half of the slab, and cast-in-situ activities are underway in the tunnel under the 32nd km of the Moscow Automobile Ring Road. The pylons are being installed and the mounting of metal structures is underway on four flyovers”, specified Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.
The head of the holding noted that it was planned to construct three treatment facilities and three pedestrian crossings at the section: an underground one, two aboveground ones, as well as to reconstruct the underground pedestrian crossing under Varshavskoye highway.
“A new underground pedestrian crossing under the MSD will be constructed in the Bitsa settlement, and aboveground pedestrian crossings over the MSD are planned in the area of the Yuzhnaya Bitsa housing estate under construction, and near the Yuzhnaya TPP stop across the Moscow Automobile Ring Road”, specified Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.
The Moscow High-Speed Diameter will improve transport services for 48 districts with over 5 million citizens.
In 2023, Mosinzhproekt celebrates its 65th anniversary.
