The readiness of Donetskaya Street reconstruction of the Southern Rockade project is estimated at 66%, reported Mr. Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general contractor and general designer of a number of the Southern Rockade sections.
“The reconstruction work on Donetskaya Street includes the installation of a street and road network (SRN) with a total length of 1.8 km. The laying of the top asphalt layers, the installation of pavements and the construction of a rainwater drainage system at the construction site are nearing completion, according to Mr. Andrey Bochkarev.
According to Deputy Mayor, work is underway to connect cable lines and rebuild the heating network.
Mr. Yuri Kravtsov, CEO, Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that construction of the local sewage treatment facilities had also started at the section.
“Work has been completed on the installation of external lighting and an automated traffic control system, as well as the rearrangement of 110 kV overhead lines. The construction of the terminus area with a terminal station for the needs of the ‘Mosgortrans’ State Unitary Enterprise, equipped with seven charging stations for electric buses, has also been completed”, noted Mr. Yuri Kravtsov.
Recall that the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is constructing two more sections of the Southern Rockade – from Kaspiyskaya Street to 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane and from Maryinsky Park Street to the Moscow Automobile Ring Road.
The Southern Rockade will connect the city’s major motorways: the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, Kutuzovsky avenue, Michurinsky avenue, Vernadskogo avenue, Leninsky avenue, Profsoyuznaya Street, Varshavskoye highway, Proletarsky avenue, Kashirskoye highway, and Lyublinskaya Street.
The new route will be an alternate route of the Moscow Automobile Ring Road and the Third Ring Road, reducing unnecessarily long road journeys as well as providing access to the M-9 Baltia and M-5 Ural federal highways.
