The main workforce is directed towards the Big Circle Line
“From 1 to 10 May, more than 16 thousand people are working on the construction of the Moscow metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Programme.
“About 16,5 thousand people are working on 83 construction sites in the Moscow metro during the holidays. The construction of the tunnels of the Troitskaya, Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya and Solntsevskaya Lines continues. The eight six-metre tunnel boring machines carry on tunnelling work”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, this is due to the fact that the construction of the metro facilities is a continuous cycle.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, recalls that the Big Circle Line (BCL) is still the key construction project in the Moscow Metro.
“The main workforce is directed precisely towards the BCL construction. 47 construction sites of the Big Circle Line employ around 9,5 thousand workers”, explained the head of the Engineering Holding.
He also specified that during the holiday period, more than 2,000 workers are involved in the construction of the electric depots of the metro and more than 300 people are involved in the construction of the transport interchange hubs.
Recall that around 8,8 thousand people worked on the construction of the metro during the New Year holidays.
Total, in the course of the past 10 years, with involvement of Mosinzhproekt, more than 125 km of metro lines, 61 metro stations, and 11 electric depots were built and commissioned in Moscow.
