The station is open to passengers of the Zamoskvoretskaya Line
“The Kashirskaya station continues to operate as part of the Zamoskvoretskaya Line during the reconstruction period, so part of the work is carried out at night time”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.
“The Kashirskaya station is a cross-platform one: after reconstruction, it will function as part of the Big Circle Line and the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. The track walls are now being clad with white marble panels. Works are underway on the Big Circle Line and the green operating line. The cladding is being implemented at night intervals, as the station is open to passengers,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
The head of the Construction Complex recalled that the Kashirskaya station and the Varshavskaya station, first opened in 1969, were part of the Kakhovskaya Line. Like the recently opened Kakhovskaya station as part of the BCL, the stations will be integrated into the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that since September 1, trains of the Zamoskvoretskaya Line, moving to the centre, started to stop at the Kashirskaya station after a six-month break.
“We are trying to ensure that the work on the BCL does not change the metro routes citizens are habitual to. The architectural finishing of the Kashirskaya platform sections has been carried out, and passengers on the green line are already using the new granite-coated platform. In general, the reconstruction of the station has been completed by over a quarter,” informed Yuri Kravtsov.
The opening of the ten stations of the Big Circle Line: Terekhovo, Kuntsevskaya, Davydkovo, Aminyevskaya, Michurinskiy Prospekt, Prospekt Vernadskogo, Novatorskaya, Vorontsovskaya, Zyuzino, and Kakhovskaya, is the largest one-time launch in the history of the Moscow Metro.
The construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already picking up passengers.
